Our service can be beneficial to people of all ages! If you are a busy individual, professional, or family who can’t find the time to stay on top of your personal financial and/or household affairs, we can help. We can come to you or we can work remotely for you to make sure your bills and financial and household needs are up to date.

If you find yourself in a new situation where you are suddenly the bill payer and you don’t know how to keep up, we can help you navigate the waters. MPB Client Advocates can help you develop a system, teach you what you need to know, and empower you to take control of your finances.

All of our Client Advocates have been recruited through our trusted network. They go through a thorough interview process, which includes checking references, running criminal background checks, and reviewing credit history reports. In addition, MPB carries several types of insurance coverage on our work to protect our clients. Management insists on transparency while our advocates are working with our clients to keep track of the work being done.

Client Advocates have varied experience in areas such as accounting, corporate bookkeeping, and insurance management, and many have managed the finances of their own parents or households, all of which is taken into account when matching a client to an advocate. MPB provides ongoing training and support to the Client Advocates as well.

Most accountants don’t work on your daily money management or home financial organization. MPB Client Advocates can review your bank and credit card statements, pay bills, make sense of insurance claims, and help you keep track of your donations. We also help you organize all of the tax documents that your accountant needs in order to file your tax return. This saves your accountant time which saves you money.

MPB’s Client Advocates work with clients all over the Chicagoland area. They generally go to a client’s home to work. We also have clients out of state, in which case the Client Advocates work remotely from their home offices. Our corporate office is in Skokie, Illinois.

We bill each client monthly, after which payment is due within 15 days. Invoices can be sent by postal mail or email. Clients may pay by check or make payments online.

We bill at an hourly rate and work as efficiently as possible.  My Personal Bookkeeper’s rates are usually much less than the hourly rate of an Accountant or Attorney.  Our goal is to find ways to save you money, making our services well worth it to you.  We save you time on Accounting and Legal fees, help you avoid penalties, late fees and interest fees.  We can negotiate with some of your vendors to lower your rates and bills.  We review statements to make sure you are not being charged for items you are not using.

Our Client Advocates can review all of this mail to help you make sense of it. We match explanations of benefits from Medicare and insurance with bills and statements. We keep track of what has been paid and what is outstanding. Your Client Advocate can assist you in making calls to insurance companies or billing offices in order to straighten things out and make sure you don’t pay more than your share.

Absolutely not. MPB Client Advocates make it a point to keep you—and, in many cases, your family or trusted professional—involved at whatever level you prefer. Our services provide peace of mind by helping you maintain order and independence.

We never become signers on our clients’ accounts. Our goal is to help our clients feel in control of their finances. We can write out the checks for the client to review and sign. We can also set up online bill payment to have checks issued directly from the bank.
