Karen graduated with a B.S.B.A. from Boston University with a concentration in Accounting. After passing the CPA exam she started her career at Ernst & Young. After several years in public accounting, she moved into commercial real estate, where she worked on the financing, purchasing and sales of regional shopping malls. While working, she completed her MBA at Northwestern University J.L. Kellogg Graduate School of Management in 1998.
For the last 20 years, Karen has been raising her family in the northern suburbs of Chicago. Karen assists in bookkeeping matters for her husband’s securities firm, E.L.K. Capital Advisors while managing all of her family’s financial matters including checking account management and bank statement reconciliations, credit card statements, and all bill paying.
